Opinel
The Opinel folding knife is a popular everyday item whose aesthetics and functionality have won over generations of users. Invented in 1890 by Joseph Opinel, on the banks of a stream overlooked by the Savoie Mountains, its simplicity, robustness and functionality make it a noble tool. It has remained unchanged for over a century, with a design that is one of the most successful of all time. For this reason, Opinel was recognised by the Victoria and Albert Museum in 1985 as one of the best-designed items in the world alongside the Porsche 911 and the Rolex watch.
Opinel's extensive range goes beyond their traditional carbon steel folding knives to include a stainless steel range, gardening and outdoor cooking knives, multi-functional folders, a Junior range for children and a Luxury line-up with handles crafted from exotic woods and horn bone.
As well as the Outdoor folding knife range, Opinel also manufacture a large collection of Kitchen knives to aid in food preparation and Table knives for everyday dining. Like the Outdoor range, their Kitchen and Table knives are manufactured using high quality steels and handle materials to provide years of comfortable and reliable use.
